Other than rising regional tensions from China and North Korea, there is also the terrorist threat to be reckoned with. But in both cases, note that are limitations in the use of military might to resolve problems. Recourse to diplomacy, sanctions and other methods still need to be employed.
But then again, can diplomacy work if the nation calling for it at the table does not have a formidable military might behind it?
