Nature is not remote. While nature might feel distant to many people living in cities, consumer choices at the supermarket, shopping mall or at the click of a mouse can drive demand for goods that might have a damaging impact through the way they are produced elsewhere. Those impacts are set to grow as the population heads for nearly 10 billion people by 2050, from 7.6 billion now."
