One main argument is that social media brings people with the same idea together. This is good if majority of the people share the same idea, as this would that lead to a consensus action -- in the case of Arab Spring, the overthrow of the corrupt regime.
But if different people subscribe to different ideas, and there is no on dominant idea that people like, then factures and disintegration will occur as different groups shout out their ideas online but there is no consensus.....this is the failure of the Arab Spring.
