Potential rebuttal for the oft-cited point that you need to preserve the old buildings to retain our memories of them....in land-scarce Singapore, perhaps one way to retain them is through art....paintings, sculptures, literature and photograps have the advantage of not needing land yet still able to preserve our memories...
But how effective is this? do photos and paintings have the same effect as the real deal (i.e. buildings)?
